As of May 1, 2019, GTC Technology has become a part of Sulzer Chemtech.
Sulzer’s goal in acquiring GTC is to gain market entry into the technology licensing business and build its Chemtech division’s position in the industry as a leading provider of state-of-art process solutions. Sulzer will strengthen its leadership in petrochemical processes while expanding its revenue base to process licensing, associated proprietary equipment and chemicals.
Sulzer has long been a well-respected company within the petrochemical and refining industry. Since 1834, their headquarters has been in Winterthur, Switzerland. The company’s core strengths are flow control and applicators; specializing in pumping solutions and services for rotating equipment; as well as separation, mixing and application technology.
Sulzer is the largest supplier of tower internals in the world. They have a network of over 180 production and service sites in around 50 countries. In 2018, Sulzer achieved sales of about US$3.34 billion with approximately 15,500 employees.
Pinti Wang will continue as President of GTC Technology with the primary management team continuing in their roles. GTC’s licensing, technology and engineering groups will continue to operate as usual as the company works with Sulzer management to assure an alignment of our business processes and enable a meaningful step-by-step integration into the Sulzer environment.
